Crackers Wither Storm Mod brings the Wither Storm into Minecraft Java Edition as a boss that does not stay the same size for long. You summon it, it starts small, and then it keeps growing, pulling blocks and creatures toward it until you find a way to stop it. The short answer
It is a Forge mod for Minecraft Java Edition, officially called Cracker's Wither Storm Mod. It recreates the Wither Storm, the huge command-block-powered creature from Minecraft: Story Mode, and turns it into a survival progression. Instead of one boss fight, you get a long event with phases, a mini-boss, special items and a final confrontation at the storm's core.
The mod is free to play. It is released by its developer through official project pages, and the developer's GitHub repository is used for bug reports and translations.
Who makes the mod
The mod is developed by nonamecrackers2, which is where the "Crackers" in the name comes from. The word has nothing to do with cracked software. The project has grown over several Minecraft versions, starting with a 1.16.5 release line and later expanding on versions such as 1.19.4 and 1.20.1.

What the mod adds
The Wither Storm is the headline, but the mod builds a whole survival loop around it.
A boss that grows
The storm spawns at phase 0 and grows through later phases. Its boss bar fills as it develops, and each phase makes it larger and more dangerous. Our phase guide walks through the progression in order.
A fixed summoning site
In a new world, a rundown house generates at X: 0, Z: 0. Next to it sits an unfinished wither-style structure with a command block in the centre and wither skulls lying nearby. Placing the last skull starts the event. In Creative or Superflat worlds you can build the structure yourself by making a normal wither shape with a command block in the centre.
Endgame items and a mini-boss
Near the end of phase 5 the storm releases the Withered Symbiont, a mutated, wither-sickened zombie. Defeating it gives you the Command Block Book. That book is used to craft Super TNT, which becomes the Formidi-Bomb, or it can be combined with a vanilla tool to create a command block tool with infinite durability.
Wither sickness and new mobs
The storm's influence spreads. Sickened mobs appear, some blocks and items become tainted, and cured sickened villagers can offer trades for tainted or withered items. The items and mobs wiki guide lists what to look out for.
Configuration
Many behaviours can be tuned in the config files, including an auto-spawn option that summons the storm after a delay and the Formidi-Bomb countdown length. That makes the mod usable for quick tests, relaxed survival or punishing hardcore runs.

Who it suits
- Survival players who want a long goal. The storm gives a world a clear threat and a reason to gather resources, explore the Nether and plan.
- Friends on a server. A shared storm turns a multiplayer world into an event, as long as everyone runs the same mod version.
- Story Mode fans. The mod is built around the creature many players remember from the series.
- Players with capable PCs. Later phases are demanding, so a mid-range or better computer helps.
